Why is this site messed up?

Internet Explorer

The vast majority of the time, this problem is due to visitors using the Internet Explorer browser from Microsoft. Internet Explorer has no regard for HTML standards at all. It does not display Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) as it should. CSS is a newer method of controlling the look and feel of documents. You can view this site's style sheet here . There's a saying among web developers - "Code for Firefox, hack for IE." Many webmasters don't care about standards, and will gladly write invalid code if it makes their website look good. In fact, most do, using obsolete elements to adjust formatting. This is not acceptable code, but IE renders it anyway. The current standards are HTML 4.0 and XHTML 1.0 .

Small Screen

If you are using a screen resolution of 640x480 or less, the top of this site will break over two lines. To change your screen resolution, in Windows XP, go to Start > Control Panel > Display. Click Settings, then drag the screen resolution slider to at least 800x600 (1024x768 is suggested). Click Apply. Don't worry if everything is small - you'll get used to it.
